Every year, Residence battles Parkside in a competition to see who is best. The competition took over four days, having students compete in relays to trivia. This year, Parkside didn't show up.

"Because Parkside didn't show up, the competition was between Los Alamitos and Residence because they were the only ones who wanted to participate," said Demetra Frangis, 20, supporter of Residence. "They seemed to have fun anyways, which is all that matters."

During the first competition, dodgeball, Los Alamitos beat Residence 3-2 in a best out of five games.

"It was kind of unorganized anyways," said Ivan Kwan, 20, on Residence. "People just showed up and started playing. It was like our team [Residence] with two guys and five girls against seven guys. But it was fun for a while."

The next the war continued without Parkside. In the trivia challenge Residence had come back to make the war's score tied at one all.

"To watch the trivia was fun," said Elise Blum, 20. "The only thing that I didn't like was that there weren't that many students participating and there weren't many spectators either."

With only two competitions left in the war, Los Alamitos took victory in the scavenger hunt and the relay. Leaving the final score 3-1.

"Hopefully next year Parkside will decide to participate," said Kevin Meikle, 20, on Los Alamitos. "We are supposed to be on Residence side, not against them."
